Gitea (R4 x86)

Gitea is a painless self-hosted Git service. It is similar to GitHub, Bitbucket or Gitlab. The initial development have been done on Gogs it was forked and named Gitea.
The goal of Gitea is to make the easiest, fastest, and most painless way of setting up a self-hosted Git service across ALL platforms that Go supports, including Linux, macOS and Windows, even on architectures like ARM or PowerPC.

Installation

Gitea supports multiple database backends out of which on the ReadyNAS there’s the choice between MySQL and SQLite. On the older systems using RAIDiator 4 I opted for only supporting SQLite since MySQL in most cases puts too much strain on the available memory. Thus the Gitea setup on ReadyNAS OS 4 may be sufficient for smaller teams only.

Configuration

When running the app for the first time after installation you will be presented with the initial setup screen. Please do NOT change any settings there.

On the same page you can configure an administrative account. If you choose not to then the first user to register will be the administrator of Gitea. Otherwise the default login will use username “gitadmin” and the password “netgear1”.
