Kernelmodules 6.9.4 (ReadyNAS OS 6 x86)

ReadyNAS OS 6.9.3 again comes with a new kernel – this time it is kernel 4.4.140 and this of course requires new kernel modules. I still stick to using the drivers included with that instead of building from the bleeding edge LinuxTV.org package.
Since NTGR changed the packaging of the GPL sources I wasn’t yet able to build a working kernel module set for the RN2xx ARM based products for firmware 6.9.4.

So here are the links to the latest x86 kernel modules:

Since I can’t test all the different USB drivers included please accept my apologies if the driver for your hardware is included but doesn’t work. In that case please drop me a note and I’ll see what I can do.

Kernelmodules 6.9.3 (ReadyNAS OS 6 x86 & RN2xx ARM)

ReadyNAS OS 6.9.3 again comes with a new kernel – this time it is kernel 4.4.116 and this of course requires new kernel modules. I still stick to using the drivers included with that instead of building from the bleeding edge LinuxTV.org package.
Also available again are the kernel modules for the ARM based ReadyNAS models of the RN2xx series. They also use the modules from the stock kernel, no additional drivers from external sources.

So here are the links to the latest (and still free) kernel modules:

Kernelmodules 6.9.2 (ReadyNAS OS 6 x86 & RN2xx ARM)

ReadyNAS OS 6.9.2 again comes with a new kernel – this time it is kernel 4.4.111 and this of course requires new kernel modules. I still stick to using the drivers included with that instead of building from the bleeding edge LinuxTV.org package.

Kernelmodules 6.8.1 (ReadyNAS OS 6 x86)

A new ReadyNAS OS – and it brings yet another new kernel. ReadyNAS OS 6.8.1 now sports the Linux kernel 4.4.88 and with it again support for some more Video4Linux drivers is added. On the other hand some drivers have been added that again require a more modern kernel than the one present on the ReadyNAS. Thus the list of drivers not supported on the ReadyNAS has grown a bit:

  • VIDEO_CX231XX: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • VIDEO_SOLO6X10: Requires at least kernel 4.5.0
  • VIDEO_MUX: Requires at least kernel 4.13.0
  • RADIO_WL128X: Requires at least kernel 4.13.0
  • VIDEO_DW9714: Requires at least kernel 9.255.255
  • VIDEO_OV5670: Requires at least kernel 4.10.0
  • VIDEO_OV13858: Requires at least kernel 4.5.0
  • DVB_M88DS3103: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • DVB_CXD2820R: Requires at least kernel 4.6.0
  • DVB_RTL2830: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • DVB_RTL2832: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • DVB_SI2168: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • DVB_LGDT3306A: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • INTEL_ATOMISP: Requires at least kernel 9.255.255

Kernelmodules 6.7.4 (ReadyNAS OS 6 x86)

New week, new ReadyNAS OS – and yet another new kernel 😉 While working on the modules for ReadyNAS OS 6.7.3 the friendly folks at NETGEAR released ReadyNAS OS 6.7.4. Thankfully the kernel hasn’t changed between those two versions so the additional effort to get everything up and running was minimal. As an added benefit the list of drivers not supported by this kernel has shrunk again.

Now the only ones missing are:

  • VIDEO_CX231XX: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • DVB_M88DS3103: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • DVB_CXD2820R: Requires at least kernel 4.6.0
  • DVB_RTL2830: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • DVB_RTL2832: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • DVB_SI2168: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • DVB_LGDT3306A: Requires at least kernel 4.7.0
  • INTEL_ATOMISP: Requires at least kernel 9.255.255
